The Here at Home Difference
Home care built around a steady team
The same small team and a real person on the phone. We built Here at Home around the things families tell us go wrong with home care.

33%
caregiver turnover at Here at Home1
The median for home care agencies was 75% in 2024.2
Low turnover means the person helping your family this month is the same person next month.
We keep our team small on purpose, and we pay our caregivers above average because, well quite frankly, they deserve it.
The questions to ask any agency, and our answers
What happens if my caregiver calls out?
Our office lets you know right away, and an on-call team member steps in to find coverage.
Will we see a different person every week?
We work hard to keep it the same. You get a small, consistent team. Your loved one's routine is written down and shared, so anyone who steps in already knows it.
Can I reach a real person?
Yes. No 800 numbers. The same small team that writes the schedule answers the phone, and after-hours calls reach a live person.
How will I know how things are going?
You get a family update form every month, and we tell you right away about any change in condition or anything that needs attention now. We built our own app in-house, so the care your family gets is shaped around you, not an off-the-shelf system.
What if the caregiver isn't the right fit?
If a caregiver isn't the right fit, we'll introduce a new one.

Small on purpose
We pride ourselves on quality over quantity, so we keep our client list small on purpose and never stretch our caregivers too thin. Most of our families come to us through referrals.
Our caregivers
Before they meet a client, every Here at Home caregiver:
- passes our skills assessment, written and in person
- is checked against the federal OIG exclusion list and the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry
- passes a background check (criminal history in every county lived in over the past 7 years, plus a driving record) and a drug test
Every caregiver is also registered with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry, gets ongoing training, and is rechecked against the OIG list every month.
Here at Home is bonded and insured.
$20/hr
We start our caregivers at $20/hr and provide tenure and performance bonuses, and we're working on adding healthcare benefits. That is above the St. Louis area median of $16.58 an hour for home health and personal care aides.3
What some of our families say
“They go above and beyond when caring for my dad. They are attentive meeting his needs and love him like their own.”
“The intake conversations were compassionate, they were honest and transparent on the contract and billing process... All were compassionate, knowledgeable and professional.”
“These compassionate caregivers have become family.”
